CalStreets is opening prebooks for a fresh collection of G&S Skateboards reissues that brings together foundational surf-skate shapes, unmistakable Neil Blender artwork and several designs drawn from the brand’s deep archive.
Gordon & Smith grew from Southern California surf culture into one of skateboarding’s defining early manufacturers. Founded by Larry Gordon and Floyd Smith, the company became known for its craftsmanship, experimental construction and legendary Fibreflex boards before helping shape the wider skateboarding boom. More than six decades later, G&S continues to connect its surf roots with authentic skateboard history.
The Neil Blender Faces deck leads the release with Blender’s full-length procession of hand-drawn faces laid over a vivid multi-stain finish. Measuring 9.5″ x 31.5″, this classic eighties shape has been modified with modern specifications and updated concave, making it suitable for today’s riding while retaining its unmistakable old-school profile. The artwork is hand screen printed, and the colourful stain makes every deck feel unique.
The Candle Man deck features one of Blender’s wonderfully strange characters on a custom-shaped 9″ x 32″ deck. Its longer, streamlined shape blends vintage personality with practical modern proportions, while the hand screen-printed graphic keeps the finish raw and authentic. The compact central artwork and visible wood stain give it the feeling of an original Blender sketch transferred directly onto a skateboard.
The Flower Guy deck measures 10″ x 31.5″ and features adjustable 14.25″ and 14.75″ wheelbase options. Built on a modern mold with updated concave, it is finished in full-dipped blue paint with routed wheel wells and hand screen-printed artwork. Blender’s mysterious scene of a small figure, flowers and an oversized dark bird gives the board a playful but slightly surreal character that is instantly recognizable as his work.
The Three Dogs deck presents Blender’s loosely drawn trio against a clean white full-dip finish. Measuring 10″ x 30″ with a 15″ wheelbase, it is produced on a modern mold with contemporary concave, routed wheel wells and hand screen-printed artwork. The broad shape and centred graphic create a strong old-school presence without sacrificing the control and comfort expected from a modern reissue.
The Foil Tail is a faithful 1984 reissue measuring 10.5″ x 30″. Its wide, sculpted shape is finished in full-dip black paint and features a hand screen-printed geometric design in green, orange, black and white. The dimensional cube pattern, dripping G&S graphic and bold colour contrast capture the visual energy of the era, making the Foil Tail equally suited to a powerful transition setup or a standout collection.
Neil Blender was one of the most creative professional skateboarders of the 1980s. Beyond his inventive riding, he drew his own graphics and helped establish the idea that skateboarders could control the visual identity surrounding their boards. His work with G&S remains an important part of the skater-as-artist tradition.
The Foil Tail takes the collection in a different direction with a bold black dip, dimensional green pattern and orange G&S graphic. Its wide, sculpted shape delivers the unmistakable presence of an old-school transition board.
Completing the release is the Warptail, a woodgrain deck featuring a period-inspired Gordon & Smith logo and flowing geometric lines. The Warptail name is deeply connected to G&S history, making this reissue especially appealing to collectors and riders drawn to the company’s earliest shapes.
