Road Rider 6 NOS Wheels on Display at CalStreets Vancouver BC Skateboard HistoryPicture this – it’s 1975, bell-bottoms are in, and the Road Rider 6’s are the skateboarding world’s shiny new toys. These wheels, the cool kids of the Road Rider Wheel family (which included the less flashy 2’s and 4’s), were lovingly poured and packed with the kind of care usually reserved for fine china or your grandma’s secret cookie recipe. Then, poof! They vanished into a box, only to reemerge now, like a rad time capsule.

Now, let’s get something straight about these beauties on display at CalStreets Reissue dept: they’re not for shredding the streets. Nope, these wheels are like that fancy living room your mom wouldn’t let you play in. They’re a slice of skateboarding history, a collectible item we’re stoked to show off in our shop.

The debut of the “Road Rider” wheel back in the day was like dropping a skateboard in a rock concert – total revolution. Before these bad boys rolled onto the scene, skateboards were rocking clay and steel wheels with loose ball bearings – basically, the Stone Age. CLICK HERE
