World Industries Skateboard Decks

World Industries was founded in 1987 by Steve Rocco and Rodney Mullen, World Industries emerged as one of the pioneering skateboard companies owned and operated by professional skateboarders.

Rocco was a leading figure in the skateboarding scene during the late 80s and early 90s. With his edgy and irreverent marketing, videos, and advertising, he caught the established corporate skate companies off guard.

As if Rocco and Mullen weren’t already characters enough, in 1996 they decided to introduce 3 new characters to the brand. Devilman, Flameboy and Wet Willy. Some would say they’re illustrated versions of the founders. 

World Industries revitalized the skate industry by pushing street skating to new heights with a raw and gritty style. This approach not only fueled the sport’s substantial growth but also played a significant role in ushering in the modern era.
