Jim Bates is a professional skateboarder from Newbury Park, California. He’s also published two children’s picture books that he wrote and illustrated. Jim is motivated to share a positive and inspirational message with kids and people of all ages through his books and passion for skateboarding. Jim has spent a lot of time traveling the world, sharing his skateboarding talents with riders in Brazil, Japan, Europe, Canada and the US. One of Jim’s biggest accomplishments was winning the Es world championship competition game of SKATE in 2005! Jim has endorsed several self signatured skateboard decks, and even enjoyed a sponsorship with Birdhouse Skateboards! Jim bates is a very passionate skateboarder and enjoys sharing his knowledge while being a positive role model for the younger kids.
