Powell Peralta

George Powell dropped by CalStreets Skateshop in Vancouver—one of Powell's earliest Canadian distributors—for a throwback hangout with Rick Tetz, Illya, and Graham. Surrounded by 80s memorabilia and fresh Powell gear, George shared untold stories from the golden age of skateboarding, posing proudly with an Andy Anderson deck, symbolizing the bridge between skateboarding’s roots and its future.
Whether you're reliving the Bones Brigade era or discovering Powell for the first time, you're not just buying a deck—you're owning a piece of skateboarding history.
Born in 1978 from the brilliant minds of George Powell and Stacy Peralta, Powell Peralta didn’t just make skateboards—they built the very foundation of modern skate culture. And then they supercharged it with the Bones Brigade, an all-star lineup that ruled the streets, pools, and vert ramps of the 1980s. We’re talking Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Steve Caballero… the original dream team.
By the early ’90s, Stacy moved on, but George kept the wheels rolling, evolving Powell into a powerhouse with Powell Skateboards, Bones Bearings, and RollerBones—names that are still the gold standard for speed, strength, and style.
Fun fact for Canadian skaters: CalStreets / CSI was Powell’s second-ever distributor in Canada, right after Northwest Skateboards. That means we’ve been hooking up Canadian rippers with the good stuff since the early days.
From the iconic Ripper graphic to cutting-edge urethane formulas, Powell isn’t just a brand—it’s a living, rolling piece of skate history. Whether you’re an OG vert dog or a street tech wizard, Powell Peralta is the kind of gear you pass down like family treasure. Ride it. Break it. Love it. Pass it on.
