The RipTide KranK Short Street Cone & Street Barrel Bushing set are the perfect way to bring like to your trucks!
These bushings are for use in standard skateboard trucks (such as Independent, Thunder, Ace, etc.) and are also fully compatible for the Yow Meraki S5 surfskate trucks. Included in the 4 pack of bushings are two short street cones and two street barrels to accommodate most traditional kingpin trucks such as Independent.
The short street cone (0.4″) bushing shape offers the most movement in your skateboard trucks, and allow your trucks to easily achieve their full lean and turn without loosing the feel of the truck. Short Street cone is most ofted used in the Road-Side (Top) position.
In addition, the street barrel (0.5″) bushing shape offers the next step up in stability above the cone bushings and are often used for a broad range of skating disciplines depending on the skaters skill level and personal preference.
Overall, this setup of Short Street Cone / Street Barrel setup is for those looking for a carvy or surfy feel but with a bit more stability (Especially at higher speeds). With this choice the resistance is more constant or linear throughout the range of motion.
This bushing set registers within the hard/medium durometer bushing range and are for are ideal (but not limited to) riders ranging from 140lbs – 200+ lbs, and those who are looking for a tighter setup.
KranK is the highest rebound formula to date from RipTide, and is designed specifically to change under pressure and is controlled by the amount of clamp pressure you subject it to when tightening the kingpin nut. The effective range of control is from barely snug for the loosest feel to 2 full turns for the tightest feel. KranK will turn the same or less than the same durometer of other brands which is also a departure from APS and WFB. As for washers, flat washers work great with this compound, but for the greatest control and range of this performance feature, use cupped, precision flat or precision cupped washers.
