FIVE LUCK FINGERBOARDS
Professional deckmaker Burt Tunstall launched Five Luck in 2015, and the fingerboard world has never been the same. Unlike today’s instant-gratification culture, Burt painstakingly perfected hundreds of boards before even thinking about selling one. Truth be told, he never wanted to sell any at all, but life had other plans and forced him to turn his hobby into his livelihood.
This twist of fate led to the creation of the legendary Five Luck molds, which are considered some of the best ever designed. It also resulted in his famous wood dyes, known for their eye-popping brightness and saturation that makes even a rainbow look drab.
Since 2017, Burt has been living in the middle of nowhere in North Central Canada, where he maintains insane quality levels in some of the harshest climate conditions. Between 2018 and 2019, he was the world’s only off-grid deckmaker when his 300 sq/ft cabin lost power and decided not to get it back.
The craftsmanship and quality of Five Luck speak louder than any marketing campaign ever could. Burt refuses to become a “company” and remains a dedicated fingerboarder and deckmaker. This hands-on approach is evident in every deck he creates, a fact that fans around the globe swear by as they shred their hearts out.
Five Luck’s story is unlike any other in the fingerboard scene. Supporting Five Luck means supporting one of the nicest, most genuine people in the community and making a real difference in his life. In an endless ocean of new “companies,” there is only one Five Luck, and Burt wouldn’t have it any other way.
My name is Burt. I am the man who carves every single Five Luck deck by hand. I am not a large company, nor do I pretend to be one. My focus is solely on the quality and performance of my boards, not dazzling you with fancy bullshit on social media. My craftsmanship is known the world over and many, many riders around the globe rely on my shapes to shred their best.
I proudly stand behind my work. Should your new Five arrive with any defects or anomalies due to my craftsmanship, please just let me know. I want you to be stoked on your new board. I make every effort to make each Five to the best of my ability but sometimes things happen. I also live and work in a wilderness setting in some of the harshest conditions on the planet which can sometimes cause issues. Please contact me via email if you have any problems at all.
I am nothing without people like yourself who have chosen to support my work, and I want to make sure you never regret that decision. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting Five Luck.
