It all began on a legendary night in the spring of 2000. The idea started with a jigsaw, an old snowboard, a beat up set of wheels and a rusty pair of trucks. The board that was created that night would profoundly change our lives forever… Restless boards was born. Since then, many things have changed, but one thing has remained a constant, a passion for the sport of longboarding. This passion runs all the way from the founders, through their team of riders, and can be seen on all their boards. Today, fuelled by this passion, Restless has proudly established itself as one the world’s elite longboard brands. Mantis
The Restless Mantis is a fast freeride beast. This board comes from the input of several Restless riders. They wanted to make a board that was both fast and agile. They started off with deck made out of 9 plys of Canadian Maple (stiff), a deep concave and a micro-drop to lock your feet in. They then added some gas pedals and some deep wheel-wells. They also included 2 wheelbase options to let you decide how reactive it gets. The deck is also extended on both ends to give a little bit of a nose/tail. To summarize, if you want to go freeriding on a fast track, you have to try the Mantis!

Fishbowl 39 and 41″
The Restless FishBowl is their all-around board. It was designed by one of their team riders – Jeremy LeChatelier. It has all the features you need in a board. First you’ve got a deep bowl concave, like their popular Big Boy with a micro-drop that locks you in perfectly for high-speed slides or downhill. There’s also some huge kick on the twin-tip shape for freestyle! Made with 8 plys of Canadian Maple (hard) so that it’s not too heavy, but is still stiff. They added some gas pedals and deep wheel-wells. They decided to call it the FishBowl because of the tails and bowl concave. Add a sick graphic and it’s perfect. If you want to do everything then get on this Fishbowl. You’ll rock that board anywhere and everywhere you go!

Restless Furabu
The Restless Furabu is their most commonly-seen downhill and fast-freeride board. It was originally designed by Flavien Vidal but the current version has inputs from Charles Ouimet. The concave on this board is wicked! You’ll see that even though this board has gas pedals, it makes no compromise on the concave. Add to that the micro-drop and you have a board where your feet are locked in and won’t/can’t slip off. The board is made from 9 plys of Canadian Maple (hard) so it’s very stiff. You’ll notice the wheelbase is long to give a very stable ride at high speeds. The original version is a drop-through flush-mounted setup, but for 2013 they’ve added a topmount version! Also a sick new Graphic for 2013. Planning on going fast? Make sure you add the Furabu to your longboard quiver.

Big Boy
The Restless Big Boy…the OG (original) bowl concave in the flesh! This board started with the idea to merge concave and the drop to create a pocket that would lock your feet in while remaining very cozy and comfortable. So they made a deep concave; the deepest they had made at the time. (This was before the Furabu) added drop, and let the 9 plys of Canadian (Hard) Maple bend the way it wanted. Thus it created the famous bowl concave! They then cut out a drop-through hole to lower the center of gravity for easier slides and riding, but also added in a flush-mount so that the board wouldn’t be so low as to hit curbs and what not. Finally they cut the shape that gave the board its name, with as much clearance for the wheels as anybody’s gonna need. The graphic has changed over the years. This year they have a 3D Graphic – check them out with 3D glasses, which come with the board.

Necronaut
The Necronaut is the most reactive downhill board Restless has made yet! This board is topmout so you’ll be riding right on top of the trucks. The board as a deep concave and a W-concave on the back foot. They also added in a micro-drop on each end to lock in the feet. The truck holes are set in the drop, so that your feet are as close to possible to the truck, giving you maximum leverage. They added an underflush so it has no change to the truck angle or geometry. The wheel-wells are very deep, but as with any topmounts, it’s impotant to check for wheelbite before riding it. (Do it!!)
The artwork that gave the board its name is an intense battle between astronauts and spacezombies!
If the hill you’re about to bomb has tight turns, the Necronaut is the board of choice!

Splinter series 35″ 38″ and 40″
The twin-tip shape and double kicks make this series more versatile. It’s a simple but time-tested design that looks good to all types of riders. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned rider the Splinter series has what you need for cruising, sliding, freestyle, freeride, and even some mellow downhill. Splinter 35″
The Restless Splinter at 35″ is the shortest of their splinter series. Made with 2 types of riders in mind: city cruisers who need a quick reactive deck that you can do some tricks on and young riders that want to start cruising and sliding with a board adjusted to their height. To make it lighter they made it out of 7 plys of hard Canadian maple instead of 8 like the other Splinter boards. They also gave it more kick for additional pop! Like all spinters it’s a drop-through board, which gives you a lower center of gravity, which means easier to slide and less fatigue on the legs on those long cruises. The shape maximizes the space for your feet while enabling enough room for the wheels.

Splinter 38″ and 40″
The Splinter 38 is the medium-size of their best seller Splinter series and the 40 is the long-size. They made it out of 8 plys of hard Canadian maple for a stiff deck. Like all Splinter boards, the 38 and 40 are a drop-through boards which gives you a lower center of gravity which means easier slides and less fatigue on those long cruising days. The shape and design maximizes the space for your feet while enabling enough room for the wheels. Super awesome graphic too: The zen rat meditating amongst the clouds. If you want a board you can use to grow your skills in all aspects of longboarding, then get a splinter!

Splinter series FiberLam 35″ 38″ and 40″
The Restless Splinter 35″ FiberLam is the short new version of the Splinter FiberLam Series, the 38″ is the medium and the 40″ is the long design. Made out of 6 plys of Hard Canadian Maple and 2 plys of biaxial fiberglass. The fiberglass makes this board lighter and more durable, but most important is it gives the board more flex memory, which means that it will keep its flex for much longer than typical wood boards. Like it’s wood cousin, this deck was made with 2 types of riders in mind: city cruisers who need a quick reactive deck that you can do some tricks on and young riders who want to start cruising and sliding with a board adjusted to their height. They also gave it more kick for additional pop! Like all Splinters it’s a drop-through board, which gives you a lower center of gravity, which means easier slides and less fatigue on the legs on those long cruises. The shape maximizes the space for your feet while enabling enough room for the wheels. In the FiberLam series the graphic was cutout of a large piece. If you put all the decks next to each other you’ll see the whole scene that depicts an epic battle between a music band and some strange sea creatures.
