Earlier this year Coast Longboarding sponsored the first aid course held at Landyachtz. The first aid course gave 28 riders the opportunity to step up and learn the skills needed to save lives and help out their fellow riders in the event of an emergency.
Among the 28 included Juan Diaz from Boarder Labs who is now hosting the weekly Sunday Jams that give riders of all skill levels the chance to meet and ride with other riders, and provides new riders a secure and safe place to learn the skills needed to ride safely.

First Aid training was carried out by EMS veteran Doug House who has been working with the longboard community and keeping them safe at major race events such as Danger Bay, Whistler Longboard Festival, and the Britannia Classic. The riders learned everything included in your standard first aid course but being riders were also trained in scenarios specific to longboarding.
Doug House came by BoarderLabs, along with downhill champion Patrick Switzer to show their support for Longboarding for Peace and the Blood from Boarders event held across Canada.
