The CalStreets Vintage Vault Is Open!

CalStreets vintage NOS skateboard sticker giveaway banner featuring original skate stickers, an orange giveaway bucket and a retro skateboarder graphic.Nearly 50 Years of Skateboard History. A thank-you from Rick Tetz

I’ve been hanging onto these stickers for decades. Now it’s your turn.

Starting November 1, 2026, we’re kicking off one of the most personal—and exciting—giveaways we’ve ever done at CalStreets. Buy any regular-priced reissue skateboard deck or complete, and receive an original vintage New Old Stock (NOS) skateboard sticker drawn from my personal collection.

These are genuine originals from the late ’70s and ’80s, with some incredible stories behind them.

The Sims stickers were handed to me personally by Tom Sims. I rode for Tom, spent time at his Santa Barbara ranch, and experienced his generosity firsthand. He helped shape the way I’ve run CalStreets: support the riders, treat people well, and give back. This giveaway carries a little of that spirit forward.

One of the people who had the greatest influence on my life, both as a skateboarder and as the owner of CalStreets, was my mentor and friend, Tom Sims. I was fortunate enough to ride for Tom and spend time with him at his ranch in Santa Barbara, California.

Tom sponsored our Canadian Sims skateboard team and even gave us a van to travel around California.  Imagine trusting a bunch of young Canadian skateboarders with a van and sending them off to explore California! Those were different times, and what incredible times they were.

But what I remember most about Tom wasn’t just the skating. It was his generosity, his business ethics, and the way he treated people. He helped shape so much of what I wanted CalStreets to become, and I’ll always be indebted to him for that.

One of my most treasured possessions is an original Sims freestyle skateboard that Tom actually hand-screened for me during one of my visits. He gave me several of those boards in anticipation of what we hoped might eventually become my own signature model.

The Skateboarder Magazine stickers came directly from photographer Jim Goodrich, who gave them to me while we were skating at the West Van park. What an epic day! Those stickers have stayed with me ever since.  Think about that for a moment. These weren’t stickers I ordered years later or found on some collector’s website. They were handed to me by Jim Goodrich himself, back when those incredible days of skateboarding were actually happening.

Now, as I begin opening up the CalStreets Vintage Vault, some of those original treasures will finally find their way into the hands of another generation of skateboarders and collectors.

From the hands of skateboarding’s pioneers, through my collection, and into yours. That’s a pretty amazing journey for a sticker!

Every qualifying purchase gets one random draw from our vintage sticker bucket. No choosing, no peeking! We’ll also film selected draws for Facebook and Instagram so you can watch the treasures coming out.

To everyone who’s supported CalStreets since 1978: Thank you! You’ve kept us rolling for almost five decades.  And after all these years, I want to share some of that history with the skateboarders and collectors who have supported CalStreets throughout my life. In many ways, it’s my opportunity to pass along a little of the generosity and spirit that Tom Sims showed me all those years ago.

REISSUE THE RIDE. UNCOVER AN ORIGINAL – A little skateboard history, from my collection to yours.

These stickers have been with me for decades. Now it’s time for some of them to find new homes with the skateboarders and collectors who will appreciate them.
