The Bull Dog Classic puts Wes Humpston’s artwork at the centre of the story. Humpston and Jim Muir were making and illustrating boards during Dogtown’s formative years, helping establish a look that belonged to the skaters and streets around them. The cross, wings and banners became part of that identity, and the Bull Dog remains one of its clearest expressions.
This Yellow/Green edition gives the familiar illustration a bright setting: blue wings flank the cross, red banners frame the lettering, and the yellow centre lets each colour remain distinct. The green perimeter follows the shape without competing with the artwork.
Made at BBS, the OG 70s Classic measures 10″ wide by 29.622″ long, with a 15.855″ wheelbase. Mellow concave and a kicktail define the Classic profile, separating this version from the Bull Dog Rider’s modern concave and different dimensions.
The rounded nose, broad middle and squared tail keep the silhouette recognisably seventies, while the Dogtown 50 Years top graphic identifies the anniversary release.
The appeal is in those specific details: Humpston’s illustration, the compact outline and a colour combination that gives this Bull Dog its own place in the series.

Dogtown Skateboards came out of Santa Monica and Venice with pool coping under its trucks and an attitude that changed skateboarding. Before Dogtown Skates, there was Zephyr. Based out of Jeff Ho and Skip Engblom’s Santa Monica surf shop, the Zephyr team brought a low, aggressive surfing style to banks and backyard pools.
