I honed my skills at the High Roller Skatepark in Phoenix, tearing it up with fellow shredders like Eddie Williams, Joe Calzon, and Pineapple.
In 1981, I made the pilgrimage to California, the ultimate skateboarding mecca. Within just two years of ripping up the streets, I got signed by one of the most legendary skate companies ever, Powell & Peralta. That’s right, I joined the Bones Brigade, the absolute best skate team in history! Stacy Peralta had a keen eye for talent, and I earned my spot with hard work and dedication. Two years later, after paying my dues as an amateur, I scored my first pro deck, featuring the iconic Steve Steadham Spade graphic that would go down in skate history. NOT a Powell Deck.
