The spin-to-win prize wheel game at Longboarder Labs’ tent at Khatsahlano Fest was a winner for everyone. A looney bought you one spin and the chance to win anything from a set of Abec Freerides, Bear trucks, Landyachtz tees or a sweaty hug from one of our crew.
The prizes flowed all day thanks to Landyachtz, Predator, Abec, Concrete Wave, Riptide and the Labs. The pile of loonies kept growing and in the end there was $170 in the pot for Landyachtz’s fundraising project for the Ahousaht First Nations skate park on Flores Island. Thanks to everyone who came out and spun!
Proceeds from the event will go towards Landyachtz’s involvement with the Ahousaht First Nation, a remote community on the west coast of Vancouver Island. In the past two years they have brought longboards for the kids of the community to enjoy. Skateboarding is a great outlet for kids to focus on and stay out of trouble, so Landyachtz has committed to help raise funds towards the construction of a skatepark in the village.
