First discovered in 1979 by Mike Archemedes, The historic China Banks are a spot to behold. Located in San Francisco’s famous Chinatown. China Banks has become a proving ground for the more trasition inclined residents of SF.
First printed in a historic Venture ad featuring Ken Takeda in 1985. His roll in on the banks has become a important piece of skateboard history.
Venture was started in the early 1980’s by the Vitello Family, originally formed to further compete with Tracker. Mark Gonzales took notice and strated riding the trucks making them intensly popular with street skateboarders. Forged in the Ermico factory also founded by the Vitellos, Ventures became known for there light yet durable construction and tight geometry.
In the early 90’s the brand Greg Carroll headed up the brand and redesigned the truck. They introduced the “featherlight” which had a lower profile and design features that were made specifcally for technical street skating.
Venture was also the first truck to shift hole pattern trends and release the new smaller hole pattern becoming popular at the time.
Today Ventures come in two heights, both low and high. With widths from 5.0 to 6.1 they will fit most deck sizes. Although they were considered a street truck they are perfect for any terrain.
