Founded and led by Al Merrick, a master board designer renowned for creating some of the most iconic surfboard models in history, Channel Islands has left an indelible mark on the surfing world.
The collaboration between Channel Islands and Carver Skateboards signifies a meeting of two stalwarts in their respective domains. Channel Islands, hailing from Santa Barbara and founded by Al and Terry Merrick, shares a common ethos with Carver Skateboards, created by Neil Carver in Venice Beach. Both brands are unwavering in their commitment to authenticity and innovation, with a steadfast dedication to quality.
Our collaborative effort resulted in the creation of the Happy Everyday skateboard, designed to cater to the needs of surfers who also have a passion for skateboarding. The Happy Everyday fills a crucial niche in every surfskater’s arsenal: the everyday shortboard. Crafted with high performance in mind, this skateboard is tailored to excel on the diverse terrains encountered during daily skating sessions.
The Happy Everyday skateboard boasts a range of features tailored for optimal performance and durability. It comes equipped with the C7 truck option in a raw color finish, providing stability and maneuverability essential for carving and surfing-inspired skating.
The 69MM Concave Smoke 78A wheels offer a perfect balance of grip and slide, ensuring smooth rides on various surfaces. The built-in bearings ensure efficient and reliable performance, while the deck pad print grip tape provides enhanced traction and control.

CARVER C7 TRUCK:
The Carver C7 Truck is Carver’s Patented front truck which is designed to create the same fluid dynamic for a skateboard that a surfboard has in the water. What gives it this ability, is the extra axis of movement provided by the truck’s rotating arm. As a result, this gives the nose of the board lateral thrust, in addition to the usual rail-to rail turn.
The C7 dual-axis truck set is very fluid, like riding a single fin surfboard and replicating the lateral sway you feel as you pump for speed. The dual axis allows the rider to adjust both axis independently for fine tuning. It’s a bit heavier than the CX truck, but the internal spring system allows for a wide range of adjustment. The trailing arm and wide adjustment range make this truck better for faster speeds and fluid surfing.The arm rotates smoothly on precision industrial thrust bearings, and is dampened by a fully adjustable, heavy-duty internal die spring. This allows each rider to customize the feel of their board. But at its core, the C7 is still a skateboard truck, with a traditional hanger and standard new-school mounting hole pattern ( 2.1”, or 2 3/32” long).
