From the Tour de Surrey Grand Finale to the CalStreets Throwdown
Chadd Sinclair is putting the spark into this one, and CalStreets is stoked to stand behind it.
This June, Chadd is bringing fresh energy to Bear Creek Skate Park with the CalStreets Throwdown — a free, all-ages community skate jam presented by CalStreets. The event is built around skateboarding, food, drinks, prizes, giveaways, music, and getting the local scene together again!
This event has deeper roots than a one-day skate jam. Back in 2007, CalStreets was connected to Hippie Mike’s Tour de Surrey, one of the great grassroots skateboard contest series in the Lower Mainland. On September 15, 2007, Bear Creek Skateboard Park was the Grand Finale stop of that year’s Tour de Surrey..
Nearly 19 years later, CalStreets returns to Bear Creek with the CalStreets Throwdown at Bear Creek — a new community skate jam hosted by Chadd Sinclair and built for the next generation of Surrey skaters, families, sponsors, and local supporters.
Chadd has become a strong voice in Surrey’s grassroots skateboarding scene — not just as a skater, but as someone who actively keeps the community moving.
Through his YouTube coverage, local event hosting, memorial jams, and ongoing support for skaters, Chadd has helped shine a light on the people and parks that make Surrey skateboarding what it is. He is heavily involved with the annual JK All Day Skate Jam at Cloverdale Skatepark and also hosts Sinclair’s Shredmas Jam over the winter holidays.
Working with CalStreets and independent sponsors, Chadd helps bring food, music, gear giveaways, prizes, and positive energy directly to local skaters. Our events are built around inclusion, creativity, community, and giving back — especially to the next generation of skaters across Surrey and the Lower Mainland.
