DOGTOWN 70’S WINGS PATCH LARGE 12″ X 8″ ORANGE

$29.95

The Dogtown Skateboards Iron-On Patch is a symbol of skateboarding’s most legendary brand. Dogtown, born from the gritty surf and skate scenes of Venice Beach and Santa Monica in the 1970s, helped revolutionize skate culture with its fearless style and raw attitude. Led by the legendary Z-Boys, Dogtown elevated skateboarding from a pastime to a movement, inspiring generations of skaters and artists.

In the early ’80s, Dogtown’s influence expanded into punk rock when Jim Muir’s brother, Mike, formed Suicidal Tendencies. Together, they created Skate Rock, blending aggressive music with skate culture. Today, Dogtown and Suicidal Skates are reunited, embracing their roots as an authentic, skater-owned brand. This patch is a tribute to Dogtown’s legacy—perfect for jackets, backpacks, or hats, it’s a way to represent the brand’s iconic place in skate history.

Emerging from the gritty surf and skate scenes of Santa Monica and Venice Beach in the mid-1970s, Dogtown was born out of a rebellious spirit that reshaped skateboarding. Rooted in the raw energy of the streets, Dogtown quickly became a symbol of daring, creativity, and authenticity, largely thanks to the legendary Zephyr team, known as the Z-Boys.  As Dogtown continued to grow, the brand’s impact expanded beyond skateboarding into music and art, cementing its place in counterculture. In the early ’80s, this influence deepened when Jim Muir’s brother, Mike, formed the punk band Suicidal Tendencies. Together, they pioneered Skate Rock, a powerful blend of punk music and skate culture that has remained influential.

The Dogtown Iron-On Patch represents this legacy—a piece of skateboarding history that continues to inspire. Perfect for jackets, backpacks, or hats, this patch is a way to show allegiance to a brand that has championed originality, intensity, and a commitment to pushing boundaries for over four decades.

Dogtown Skateboards Canada for Sale - Pickup VancouverDogtown Skateboards “Our only Crime is Being Original” Dogtown, as a concept, has existed since the early 1970’s. It was the birthplace of progressive skateboarding, Santa Monica/Venice, California. In the celebrated documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys, Santa Monica/Venice was a forgotten slum by the sea.
Out of the wreckage of Abbot Kinney’s dream town gone bad, roamed young surfers searching for outlets after the surf got blown out. They found it through an aggressive approach to skateboarding never seen before. Jim Muir, the founder of Dogtown Skateboards, was one of these kids. For 38 years Dogtown Skateboards has been synonymous with hardcore skateboarding.
